the Transformer

First published in 1996, the Transformer is produced by Afesis-corplan, with sponsorship from the Ford Foundation and Cordaid.

While many of the articles cover issues facing local government in South Africa, the journal also features opinion pieces and critical reflections on housing and urban development issues in the Eastern Cape.

Our readership includes mayors, councillors, municipal managers, non-governmental and community-based organisations, academics, researchers, development practitioners, civil society organisations, community leaders, media representatives, journalists, information officers, officials in the Department of Provincial and Local Government, consultants and contractors in the private sector who do business with local government.

As part of our strategic plan for the continued growth and sustainability of the journal, we have successfully offered advertising space since October 2006.

Now in full colour, with six issues published per year, the Transformer is available online or by joining our mailing list. To receive your free copy of the latest issue, send your name and postal address details: click here to email
