Round Table held a discussion on Thursday, 4 March, in Cape Town on meaningful engagement in the realisation of socio-economic rights. It was hosted by the Community Law Center at the University of the Western Cape and it brought together civil society organisations, social movements as well as government officials. The meeting discussed challenges of public participation and ways in which to ensure that there is indeed a meaningful engagement that makes it possible for especially the poor to access and enjoy socio-economic rights.
