Afesis-corplan’s Local Government Unit participated in a provincial workshop hosted by the Eastern Cape NGO Coalition (ECNGOC) on 12 and 13 July 2007. Discussions were held around a rollout plan for a programme aimed at capacitating civil society organisations to participate actively in local government issues in their communities. The other Eastern Cape lead organisations that presented at the workshop included Calusa and Masifunde who shared information on how best to deliver training on local government issues targeted mainly at civil society organisations in the Cacadu, Amathole and Chris Hani districts.
