Afesis-corplan met with the Eastern Cape NGO Coalition (ECNGOC) on 20 August 2007 to discuss a draft agenda for the upcoming Civil Society Programme for Participation in Local Governance. The upcoming district workshops are aimed at strengthening civil society’s ability to participate actively in developmental local governance issues in the municipalities of the Eastern Cape. The first workshop will be held from 4 to 7 September 2007 in the Amathole District and will be attended by at least 20 participants from various NGOs and CBOs in the province.
