About Afesis-corplan

About Us

feature03Afesis-corplan is a non-governmental organisation that has contributed to community-driven development and good local governance in the Border-Kei (Amathole) region of the Eastern Cape since 1992.

Registered as a not-for-profit Section 21 Company, Afesis-corplan operates under the governance of a Board of Directors comprising prominent members of the public and private sector.

The organisation employs twelve staff members, ten of whom have professional or post-graduate qualifications. Ten staff members are from historically disadvantaged communities. Afesis-corplan strives to achieve racial and gender representation both in terms of overall staff composition and leadership opportunity.

Afesis-corplan works with a broad range of target groups that include municipal councillors and officials, non-governmental organisations, community-based organisations and low-income communities. While the organisation functions primarily in the Eastern Cape, our Local Governance Programme has had an increasingly national focus.
